I know everyone is sick of these scanning tests and keen for the first reel of Dead End and that is the very next thing I will be scanning. I have not done a full 2000 foot reel before and I want to make sure everything is working correctly on the scanner so I don't have to redo it. I also think these uploads are important to document the refinement process of the design. This is a test after I have rewired the LED backlight which has been a constant issue flickering during scans since I built the scanner and what I believe has been causing the inconsistent lighting of my uploads. This has now been fixed and I can already notice much more consistent lighting not only frame to frame but also across the area of each frame. There was a distinct darkness to the non-soundtrack side which now seems to be lessened.
This is also a test of a two point tracking on DaVinci which as you can see here is locked on dead to the sprocket holes if you follow them. It really highlights how poor the printing registration is on this countdown.
