Lebanese vegan food usually has plenty of vegan options and we found ourselves having dinner at Jamjar which has three locations in Greater Vancouver. Their Commercial Drive location takes reservations, but it actually wasn’t too busy on a Sunday evening and it seemed like the host wasn’t able to find our online reservation anyway. They have ample seating inside as well as outside and we opted to sit on their patio since it was still warm and sunny. The menu has clearly marked vegan options and rather than ordering a bunch of mezzes, we went for the vegan tasting platter. The vegan platter had two courses: a sampling of cold dishes and then a sampling of hot dishes. "Tripoli to Tyre -Feeds two hungry people. A vegan sampler that includes olives, makdous, hummus, muttabel, mohammara, spinach dip, fattoush, mujadra, makali & falafel".
The serving size was sufficient for two people, plus, we suppose drinks are a large part of Jamjar’s business because we were asked if we wanted drinks as soon as we sat down and again after we ordered our food. Jamjar would be a great place to go with a group of people since it caters to all diets and it does have vegan options.
