The first of a series on making wallets, looking at design and leather selection in this one. I have chosen a simple vertical wallet, and I explain how I have made it fairly compact when it is closed, and also I explain about T slots. These wallets are made from Russian Hatch leather which is infused with birch oil, and there is an interesting story about how this leather was re-discovered.
In following films I will explain how I cut them out and how I stitch them together.
