Today at Quanta Laser Labs, we’re going to talk about one of our favorite subjects here at Quanta – laser tattoo removal. Here at Quanta we have over seven different devices you can do laser tattoo removal with, so we really have a lot of expertise here.
When you are looking at bringing aesthetic treatments into your practice, you absolutely need to be considering laser tattoo removal. When you look at the market and the opportunity, over the last ten years the laser tattoo removal market has grown by 440 percent. Now here’s another really interesting fact; over 60 percent of the people who are getting tattoos removed are women. Don’t automatically assume that you’re just getting a rough character coming into your nice med spa or your dermatology practice, but understand that many of the people out there that need tattoo removal are women. In fact, 40 percent of all Americans under the age of 40 have a tattoo. That’s about 45 million Americans. And of that, at least 20 percent, or almost 10 million of those, have at least one tattoo that they would like to remove.
Now here’s what it means for your practice. Every single patient that walks through your door looking for tattoo removal is a thousand-dollar bill. When you look at the number of treatments, on average, that people are coming in, it’s about six treatments. And when you look at the average treatment charge of somewhere between $150 and $200 per treatment, that’s a that’s a great, motivating factor to bring in tattoo removal to your clinic.
When you’re looking at tattoo removal, there are several different ways or different wavelengths to remove those tattoos. Now understand that tattoos are obviously very different colors and you know, this is what we’re doing, is we’re looking for the ink or the wavelength that is that is best absorbed by that ink. And so today in this series, we’re going to be talking about the different wavelength options and which options would be best for your aesthetic practice.
