MANILA, Philippines – At least 21 participants from different labor groups completed the three (3) days Social Media Training spearheaded by Labor Education and Research Network (LEARN) together with the People’s Media Advocacy Asia – Center for People’s Media (PMAA-CPM).
Jose Luis Garcia, Education Officer of LEARN said the training is aimed at building a new motivational drive for the union leaders and members to better understand the complex phenomena of the social media and how it will be maximized as a tool for labor groups.
He said, this is the first time LEARN conducted the social media training workshop and they hope to duplicate it the soonest.

Novelita Palisoc, President at Murphy of Domestic Worker of the Philippines said, the training workshop is an eye opener and could be used as a tool in disseminating information for their members.
She said Social Media is the fastest way to communicate with other people.
The training was held in LEARN Worker’s House at 94 Scout Delgado street near corner Tomas Morato, Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City. It was conducted last 27, 28 and 29 April 2017.
Among the resource persons during the training are PMAA-CPM Director Jim Libiran, Veteran Journalist Veronica Uy, Multi-award winning investigative reporting Jun R. Del Rosario and Veteran Photo Journalist Luis Liwanag. CPM
