Emily decides to walk to the gym
Walking with a heavy backpack means that you're going to feel warmed up
I wish I could walk more
This is important because it allows her to feel ready
She ties her hair back so she doesn't have hair in her face
She grabs a foam roller and puts it on the floor
I use it on my back
It's a way for you to feel more loose and flexible
She's grimacing
It's now time to stretch
She's using a yoga mat to stretch out her hip flexors
I usually do this stretch after doing soccer
Some fitness trainers say not to stretch before exercising
She is stretching her inner thighs and her hamstrings
I'm not flexible enough
It's time to get on the rowing machine
She's going to use her back, arm, and leg muscles to do this rowing motion
Rowing can be brutal
It seems like she's going at a low intensity
She is now skipping
This is really intense
She's landing on her toes and then jumping up over the rope
This is a hard skill and takes practice to master
She then goes to the exercise bike and adjusts the seat
This type of exercise bike is common in CrossFit gyms
She's really pumping her legs and her arms
She's cycling intensely so she can get good cardio exercise from this workout
She gets off the bike feeling very tired
She starts doing burpees
You lower yourself to the ground, push up, and jump into the air
After doing this, she's exhausted
Maybe she pushed herself too hard, too soon
She takes some time on the floor, breathing heavily
She looks up at the bar, she's focused, jumps up and grabs hold of the bar
She starts doing kipping pull-ups
She's in the strength training part of her workout
She's wrapping her hands because she's going to start lifting heavy weights
You can see weights on the bar
She rolls the bar to her shins
Lifts up the bar
Lifts it over her head and then squats up
This is called the barbell snatch
You saw her warm-up set
She's going to try and break her personal best
She puts extra weight on the bar
She's never lifted so much weight before
She takes a deep breath
She completes the lift and throws the bar back to the ground
She puts her weights back
After her strength training, she moves on to explosive movements
She's using her legs and exploding up
Jumping on the box, twisting around, and doing the jump again
This one takes a lot of effort and explosive power
She goes for a job
It's more of a high-intensity run
She's not all-out sprinting
She's going quite fast here
It takes a lot of energy to do this
It feels like you've had a good workout after completing these sprints
In this video, you're going to learn words, phrases, verbs, and idioms on the topic of exercise. Be sure to turn on subtitles and read the lesson notes below!

SUMMARY:
Asking questions is a fantastic way for you to overcome your fear of speaking. It allows you time to get used to the situation youre in and then, you can also steal the language the other person is using.
Here are the questions you can ask. These are common in everyday English so memorize these and use them the next time youre speaking English:
- Hey, how’s it going? I’m Jack…
- Where are you from?
- Whereabouts in Spain?
- Oh, I’ve been there
- So, what do you do?
- Do you like it?
- Don’t ask about wages
- Who do you teach?
- How do you get students?
- How do you know Paul and Sarah?
- This is such a common question to ask. At a party - you both have someone in common - you both know the host / hostess / hosts
- Know that you’re going to get asked the same thing so start thinking about your answer
- How often do you go back home/ to the U.K.?
- I go back every year or so….
- Would you like to meet up sometime?
- Would you like to get a coffee and chat more about….
- Which school does [insert name] go to?
- Does he/she like it?
- Are you into …..?
- I usually ask this about football/soccer as that’s what I’m into
- This is such a good spread
- The food is amazing
- It’s been so cold today…
- Talk about my lesson on temperatures and the weather
- It’s so important to learn this
- How do you like….?
Youll notice that some of these are statements. Making quick statements also helps you when it comes to this.
