SUMMARY:

Asking questions is a fantastic way for you to overcome your fear of speaking. It allows you time to get used to the situation you're in and then, you can also steal the language the other person is using.

Here are the questions you can ask. These are common in everyday English so memorize these and use them the next time you're speaking English:

- Hey, how’s it going? I’m Jack…
- Where are you from?
- Whereabouts in Spain?
- Oh, I’ve been there
- So, what do you do?
- Do you like it?
- Don’t ask about wages
- Who do you teach?
- How do you get students?
- How do you know Paul and Sarah?
- This is such a common question to ask. At a party - you both have someone in common - you both know the host / hostess / hosts
- Know that you’re going to get asked the same thing so start thinking about your answer
- How often do you go back home/ to the U.K.?
- I go back every year or so….
- Would you like to meet up sometime?
- Would you like to get a coffee and chat more about….
- Which school does [insert name] go to?
- Does he/she like it?
- Are you into …..?
- I usually ask this about football/soccer as that’s what I’m into
- This is such a good spread
- The food is amazing
- It’s been so cold today…
- Talk about my lesson on temperatures and the weather
- It’s so important to learn this
- How do you like….?

You'll notice that some of these are statements. Making quick statements also helps you when it comes to this.
