Dar Vanderbeck, Vice President, Aspen Global Leadership Network, opened the 2026 Resnick Aspen Action Forum with a reflection on humanistic leadership, set to live music from Daniel Bernard Roumain (Michael D. Eisner Arts and Culture Fellowship). Through the story of muralist Brandan “Bmike” Odums (Michael D. Eisner Arts and Culture Fellowship), who turned a ruined New Orleans building into a thriving studio after Hurricane Katrina, Dar invited the room to embrace uncertainty and find their courage in the unscripted.

Each summer, the Resnick Aspen Action Forum offers the opportunity for the Aspen Global Leadership Network to come together to reflect, refresh, and recommit to confronting some of society’s greatest challenges.
