📖 About the Film
Released in 1981, Le Professionnel follows secret agent Josselin Beaumont (Jean-Paul Belmondo), who is sent to assassinate an African president on behalf of the French government.
When political circumstances suddenly change, Beaumont is abandoned by his superiors, betrayed to the very regime he was sent to eliminate, and imprisoned. After years of brutal captivity, he escapes and returns to France determined to complete his original mission and settle the score with those who betrayed him.
The result is a thrilling mix of espionage, action, political conspiracy, and revenge that remains one of the defining French action films of its era.
