Originally released on the 4th volume of the French VHS collection by AB/TF1 Video in 1994, later reissued in 1997.

Now... this is one of two especially unique episodes of series 2 (the other one being "Waltz War" or "La guerre des valses"), because as of this moment, no English version has been identified, especially given the currently available online sources of Thompson-episode broadcast dates in the UK.

In French, this episode is known as "Le voyage imaginaire" or "Le voyage extraordinaire", but for now, I'm unofficially (and temporarily) naming this episode, "Imaginary Voyage".

Now, there have two episodes that did air among the other 98 series 2 episodes, one being "Dylan the Sleepwalker" and "Dylan and the Guitar". At least the former appears to be a holdover of a series 1 episode filmed in color, while the latter's footage has yet to be recovered. It's possible that those two early Dylan-related episodes were broadcast instead of this one and "Waltz War", meaning they might've not been adapted to English at all. On the other hand, several sources say that 441 episodes were adapted to English by Eric Thompson in the UK from 1965 to 1977, but as of this moment, only 424 have been identified from at least two sources, currently leaving the existence of 17 episodes mysteriously unconfirmed.

This is also one of at least four color episodes during series 2 (including this one) to feature Florence's friends, Paul, Basil, and Rosalie (Coralie), who stopped appearing after the original black-and-white series, apart from the opening and closing sequences. The other color episodes they appeared in were "Wine Making", "Snowman's Scarf", and "The Rain".

Curiously, the names of the two boys are switched in this episode, as well as in "The Rain". Usually, Pio or Paul (not Basil) is the name of the boy in the blue jumpsuit who always quotes his dad's sayings. Their names (Paul and Basil, or Pio and Basile) are also inconsistent in various episodes/seasons as well. For the black-and-white episodes, as well as "Dougal and the Blue Cat" and UK book adaptations of the English version, Paul (Pio) is supposed to be the one in blue, while Basil (Basile) is the one in yellow. For the four color episodes and merchandise, their French names are switched. For the CGI era, Basil no longer appears, with Paul being given Basil's name in both English and French.

Curiously, a production photo from this episode was used for a photo gallery slideshow in the DVD bonus features of "Dougal and the Blue Cat".
