Can you have “perfect” LDL cholesterol and still have atherosclerosis?
A study in Atherosclerosis found 37% of people with very low LDL (avg ~57 mg/dL) still showed signs of plaque on imaging (CAC scan or carotid ultrasound).

This isn’t saying LDL/ApoB don’t matter — it’s that they often dominate the conversation more than they deserve, while bigger drivers of cardiovascular risk get ignored.
