I think we can safely say that my annual post-birthday upload LaytonTunes is now a thing, and I’m glad that I can say that, because this song was not the easiest to work with—at least not with the sub-genre / whatever I had in mind! Is it weird that I’m uploading again? Feels like it’s been forever. Curious Village was a weird game for me. I started with Unwound Future, worked my way back, and then played the prequels out of order too (started with Miracle Mask, then Last Spectre, then Azran of course) and maybe it was because I did that that the graphics seems a little meh, or the story was a little lack lustre, but hot damn if it didn’t have fantastic music. I feel like Curious Village was an experiment of sorts, just seeing if they could make a puzzle game that had actual guts in it too, with a fleshed out story, character development, and what have you. When you think about it, the very concept of the Layton games is sort of crazy to start with, because puzzles + story don’t exactly seem like they’d go hand-in-hand—even though they totally do. This song is kind of like that for me! I had a very set idea about what I wanted to do, and I think I accomplished it. I really wanted to have a song that built as it went along, and then turned into something else. Well, thanks for sticking with me through another year of my life, and I will see you very soon with a new PokéTunes!
Just wanted to provide a small update on my computer situation, because the last time I mentioned it things were looking really bad, and now they are really fantastic. So, about a week after I uploaded ‘Anne’ my computer froze while I was working in Logic, and I had to shut the thing down because it wouldn’t allow me to restart. Shocker: that didn’t work, and when it started back up again, it crashed about halfway through the boot. I guessed that my hard drive was shot (I was correct) and so I took it to the computer store, and handed it over for repair. When I was there somehow they got me into the idea of buying my dream Macbook Pro, and I did, and I’m typing on it now. I am still transferring small things over to the new computer, but my computing situation is all good now. I really appreciate all the kind messages, and the support. Hopefully now I can actually start uploading normally!

ART: Okay, I am 99% sure this is official art from either the guidebook, the website, or whatever. I tried my absolute best to look into if it was fan made, and I could not find any sources. If you DO know, please, please email me (email is below) and and let me know who created this! Thank you!
Music sounds better with headphones. Pop 'em in, and listen to the magical ear fireworks.

HappyDragonite Super-Quick F.A.Q.
Q: Download links?
A: I was having some technical difficulties with my service provider since the Summer of 2013, and I am in the process of finding a new place to host said MP3’s. Please be patient.
Q: You used my art in one of your videos, can I have credit?
A: For anything pre Autumn 2014 send me and email at HappyZoroark [at] gmail.com with the video title in the subject line, or art, and I will add a link for you in said video as soon as I can. As of September 2014 there will always be a link so you should have no reason to worry about credit unless it’s a bum link, or you (the artist in particular) would like a different link to be used, in which case you can email me.
Q: What do you use to produce your music?
A: High quality samples, my wits, and Logic Pro 9. For video editing I use iMovie 9 (because the new one is impossible to figure out), and for image editing I flip-flop between Pixelmator and Photoshop CS-something.
Q: Can I use your music in a video / monetized video?
A: Absolutely. You don’t even need to ask my permission, just add a link to my channel in the description of your video and it’s all good. No need to make it all complicated. Go right ahead. If you want some attention too, feel free to mention me on Twitter @HappyDragonite, and I’ll check your video out!
Q: How can I help support your channel ie. donations?
A: I don’t accept donations at this time, but watching my videos (liking etc.) helps. If you have adblock on, if you turned it off to watch the videos of the people you watch on YouTube that would be super cool, because that’s sort-of completely how I can afford to keep uploading videos instead of working retail.
