SCAD alum Lavar Munroe (B.F.A., illustration, 2007) represents The Bahamas at the 61st Venice Biennale.

"In Another Man's Yard," curated by Dr. Krista Thompson, marks The Bahamas' return to the Biennale after 13 years and honors the life and legacy of the late Bahamian artist John Beadle through an extraordinary dialogue across generations.

Built from repurposed materials, salvaged Junkanoo costumes, and artifacts from Beadle's studio, Munroe's immersive installation explores the enduring connection between the living and those who came before us.

Congratulations to Lavar on this remarkable achievement at one of the world's most celebrated stages.
