Our hike to Last Chance Promontory began under mostly sunny skies, winding through a beautiful forest and across a quiet creek. As we climbed higher, the sky grew dark as the clouds thickened. By the time we reached Last Chance Promontory snow started falling, turning a calm morning into a dramatic winter scene above the valley — a reminder of the simple joy and quiet beauty of being out in the mountains
