Laser texturing creates a microtexture on the surface bipolar plates to improve its adhesion before thermal spray coating, e-coating, or another protective coating. To improve adhesion, laser texturing improves the roughness, removes contaminants, and generates surface oxides that are good for bonding.

The process textures is highly precise and can texture specific areas of the bipolar plates while leaving other areas untouched.
