In 2020, there were registered 6,500 laser attacks against aircraft in the USA. A few days ago, the captain of a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 got his eye injured by a laser after departure from London Heathrow. The captain's condition deteriorated, and the flight had to return back to Heathrow.
