These data centers hoarding on RAMs has led to absolute desperations, even if it's at the detriment of innocent people.
A laptop service center got caught in 4K swapping RAM that they got from their customer with their own RAM. A customer came in with a laptop containing a Lexar 16 GB RAM in need of service. Somehow, they received the laptop and 8 GB of Micron RAM, and the store thinks that they can get away with it. The issue got so viral that the store was absolutely review-bombed on Google Maps.
Are there any resolutions to this issue? Yes. The owners of the RAM clarified that they have resolved the matters peacefully, but here is the absolutely scummy part of the whole ordeal. The victims apologized for "causing discomfort." Yes, the victims had to apologize, not the store owners. Not only that, but the store's official social media account just reposted that apology. That's it. They don't provide their own statements. They don't provide their own apologies. Absolutely zero regrets.
I find this event downright sickening as someone who knows a thing or two about swapping RAMs and SSDs, especially now that I have a used ThinkPad for my work. God bless used ThinkPads. They are awesome. I hope that laptop repair business is doing well with that abysmal review bomb you got.
