I was seeing around a 17 degree F (8 C) temperature drop when turned on high and under intense use. I maxed out the graphics card to heat up the system. My laptop does have larger than normal vents underneath so my results might be higher than normal. Regardless of what laptop you have, keeping it cooler will extend it's life and can help prevent your battery from overheating.
