There's not much to understand, just eliminate all the spawns as quickly as possible, especially the fallen angel or the broken spear corona, since they summon allies depending on the turn.
To increase your stats and overall damage, you must take advantage of time. Turn 1 will be day, turn 2 will be night, and this will repeat cyclically until the end of the battle.
During the day, you will gain stacks of one buff for each instance of damage you deal to enemies (including fixed damage), while at night you will gain one stack of another similar buff for every two blocks you move while attacking. Upon accumulating 10 stacks of either buff, they will be replaced by another buff called The Gloaming: all stats +2%, stackable up to 40 times.
Remember to take advantage of the effects of the snowy terrain to increase your damage.
