"God is not indifferent to what is wrong. Habakkuk's grief was accurate, and it was heard, and God agreed with him. Habakkuk’s lament is not named as an overreaction, and it was not a failure of faith. It’s validated by God. Lament is not whining, and it is not a waste of breath. It's paying attention, it’s proclaiming the things we see that are not right, it’s saying the true thing out loud to the God who is already at work setting it right, and who is inviting us into that work."
