On May 31st, 2026 the Los Angeles Fire Department Air Operations and ground crews responded to assist a stranded hiker in the Aliso Canyon area.
A 35-year-old woman was located approximately 100 yards above Sesnon Road on a steep hillside near the Aliso Canyon Wash.
Although she had no reported injuries or medical complaints, the terrain prevented her from safely returning on her own.
Fire 1 hoisted an LAFD paramedic to the patient's location to conduct an assessment and assist with the rescue.
The woman was then hoisted from the hillside and safely transported to Sesnon Road, where she was reunited with a companion who drove her home.
The patient was evaluated by firefighters and declined further medical treatment or transportation to a hospital. No injuries were reported.
