A rare return to the high defenses that plagued the non-plus postgame areas, but Grandgon at least has the courtesy to leave its MND debuff and SIL resistances totally open, and also has ridiculously low HP for this point of the game, so just use defense ignoring attacks or lower its MND and use magic attacks for a quick kill.
