In November 2002, military reporter Michael Jordan traveled to the sprawling complex of US military bases near the Iraqi border in Kuwait, to chronicle the lives of Savannah-area soldiers preparing for the imminent invasion of Iraq. The series of reports filed for WSAV-TV 3/NBC Savannah included stories on the live-fire training carried out by the troops, as well as features on how the soldiers relaxed and celebrated Thanksgiving.
