Jelster64To my knowledge, the world's first 45 without doing extra tricks.
A little backstory: most OoT speedruns start the Dampé race from the middle. This means they talk to Dampé from the platform and then jump down. The lowest time a human has ever gotten like that is 46. The route I run (All Dungeons + Ganon) is a little different: I always need something from the pots in Dampé's grave (like Deku Nuts or a red rupee) which means I get to start the race from the side. This saves a little bit of time in the race.
This fact essentially illegitimized every 46 I've ever gotten. When most people get 46, everyone's all like "woah, nice! gg, you really optimized dampe haha", but MY 46s are always met with "lol fake 46 because you started from the side git gud scrub". Especially from ikswozol. WELL NOT ANYMORE. 45, BITCHES. It's a thing. Get used to it.
Shoutouts to Brad, he made a No IM/WW LOTAS that got really close to 45 with rolls (youtu.be/4rg4qDXksGc). Watching this video really kept me going (even though I do the 14th, 15th and 16th roll a bit differently than Brad's LOTAS). Shoutouts to Marco, he made me realize quickdraw jumpslash can be used in the race.
It's easily possible to get a lower time with some extra shenanigans. You can play a warp song, which will trigger the "You can't warp here!" textbox. That textbox interrupts the timer, which means it's probably technically possible to get 0:00 by chaining warp songs. Alternatively, you can temporarily freeze the timer by using a cutscene item (e.g. ocarina, fish, bugs) in mid-air.
Without timer manipulation, there's still some other tricks you can do to save time: you can store a ground jump, walk past the Dampé trigger, and then start the race from the other side. You can also longshot the torch at the end as a little shortcut (youtu.be/uI8fv5CprsE). But as far as normal Dampé is concerned, the type of race you'd normally do in speedruns, where no real time is exchanged for a "timesave" on the in-game timer, this is as fast as it's gonna get.
Dampés that exchanged actual time for in-game time: DannyB's 45 from the top with hover boots clips.twitch.tv/OilyGoodCrabImGlitch Baker's 45 from the top (he backflips into the race trigger, and takes a left turn near the end, both of which save race time but waste actual time) youtu.be/ZHgxvPSr5Eo Juwk's 44 from the top (owl skips his way into the race to save a jump, and also takes the left turn near the end) youtu.be/IMDOgHLbUwU

-the backflip while targeting the sign will move link in a straight line away from the sign. if you sidehop right before this backflip, that means it'll be angled slightly more towards your destination. (with this line of thinking, you may wonder: why not sidehop twice before the backflip? you can, but i don't like it because imo it makes the stick angle you gotta hold more awkward and increases the chance you read the sign) -jumping is at walking speed (5.5), so if link is mid-air for a long time it becomes slow. i'm convinced sidehops are faster here. the stick angle you gotta hold is in the diagonal notch on my controller -roll into the guard. it doesn't matter how badly your roll hugs the guard, the only thing that matters is targeting the guard as early as possible (after that you gotta wait for the untarget anyway) -idk if the strat i used for rolling under the guard is faster or slower than the one used in 12:10[raw] No IM/WW speedrun in 1:17:03 (Zelda: Ocarina of Time)Jelster642019-02-13 | Retimed to be 1:17:03.65

New Spirit BK Skip setup I made using the new low height ground clip discovered by RoseWater. With a statue climb like this (youtu.be/j2GdEJsMmkg?t=46m53s), it should be a decently fast alternative for the hoverslide Spirit BK Skip in No IM/WW.

Ocarina of Time - Low% MST in 3:12:13 by zfg (July 2017) youtu.be/tE7IyTdM3Jk After bakeneko singlehandedly revived the longer Low% categories (AD, MST and RDO), zfg decided to pick up Low% MST and make a post-commentary for it. This commentary is undoubtedly the best introduction to OoT Low%, and goes into great detail about its definition, limitations, routing and tricks. This video is especially fun to watch if you've already seen a lot of OoT speedruns, because it contains a lot of unique glitches that you've probably never seen before.
Ocarina of Time - Any% in 18:10 by Cosmo (July 2014) youtu.be/1rM8kU8qDFA This is one of the best OoT speedruns of all time, and also one of the best post-commentaries of all time. Not only does it explain all the tricks, but also goes into the history of OoT speedrunning. It remains noob-friendly while also conveying how amazing the run is. This is Cosmo's magnum opus.
The Evolution of Glitchless Speedruns in Ocarina of Time by dannyb21892 (August 2017) youtu.be/2ebZ94KGlVw Glitchless/Bug Limit doesn't have that many tricks, so a full commentated run wouldn't work very well for it (it's over 3 hours long). This 18 minute video fully covers the category's history and explains its tricks, which means it has all the information you could want out of a post-commentary.

Majora's Mask - All Fairy Rewards, No Human in Dungeons in 2:29:50 by Keeta (February 2018) youtu.be/KkMe1VUJUEc This is a LOTAD (Low Optimization Tool Assisted Demonstration, basically a non-optimized TAS) made and commentated by Keeta. This video is a well-balanced mix of complex glitch explanations and light-hearted jokes. It's a lot like his MM 2 Pause commentary in that sense, but with much more effort put into it. One of my favorite commentaries ever.
Majora's Mask in 2 Pauses in 2:54:38 by Keeta (February 2015) youtu.be/KaDflIPG3f4 This is a LOTAD (Low Optimization Tool Assisted Demonstration, basically a non-optimized TAS) made and commentated by Keeta, where he beats Majora's Mask using only 2 pauses. This run's glitches are insane and unique, and Keeta's hilarious commentary makes this video an all-time classic. (This is "part 1" of the series of low pause Zelda LOTADs.)
Ocarina of Time 3D - All Dungeons in 1:57:23 by benstephens56 (live commentated at AGDQ 2017) youtu.be/EkSx2_L4Uug If you've seen a lot of OoT speedruns, but you're unfamiliar with OoT3D speedrunning (or you've only seen any%), this will be a really entertaining run for you. It contains tons of insane glitches that don't exist in OoT, on-the-fly routing, and benstephens' enthusiastic commentary keeps it entertaining for its entire length.

The Wind Waker HD - All Dungeons in 2:48:28 by gymnast86 (May 2017) youtu.be/1Bpw2CHaLsM This is another post-commentary by gymnast86. Undoubtedly the best introduction to TWWHD speedrunning. In case you're not famililar: earlier this month, Exodus found a glitch that allows adult Link to use boomerang, so in the new All Dungeons route, we do Jabu as adult. One problem that came with that route change was the fish. We used to catch a fish in Zora's Domain as child, but now we have to get it somewhere else. This route change is actually extra nice since we now get 29 chus with RBA instead of 25 (which compensates for the 3 chus used in Jabu I guess)Superslide in last collapse room comparisonJelster642017-08-09 | ...DC Wrong Warp non-initial position setup with hover bootsJelster642017-05-20 | Since you're using a pause during the pause buffering to equip hover boots, it saves you one equip when doing gate skip.

I know at 9:44 I said that we can do a lot better than GDQ runs and then show a GDQ live commentary. My point was that Cosmo kept in mind that he had a casual audience, which is key to making a successful post-commentary.
Another thing I forgot to mention was that the groups of "streamers" and "purist speedrunners" aren't absolute. A lot of people are somewhere in the middle between the two and there are purist speedrunners who have successful streams. I just wanted to represent the general needs and opinions from these two groups.Celebrating Ocarina of Times 18th birthday!Jelster642016-11-21 | In this video, I celebrate the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 64 turned 18 years old.

the new movement is faster by 3 visual framesCollapse cutscene comparison: Torje vs. SkaterJelster642016-04-20 | MidKnight uploaded a video tonight that caused a lot of controversy. It compared the collapse cutscene length from Torje's any% PB and Skater's any% PB, and it led many people to the conclusion that Torje saved 2 seconds over Skater every single run merely because of Wii model differences. However, the situation is not that simple.
There's a couple of things to keep in mind: -According to MrGrunz, the length of the collapse cutscene is actually partially decided by RNG (http://puu.sh/opIy7.png). -The comparisons were made from YouTube uploads of Twitch stream highlights. Skater's video footage was screencapped from an Amarec window. Skater's Amarec is special, because it randomly speeds up/slows down all the time. That makes the comparison very inaccurate.
This video compares the length of the collapse cutscene from several runs Skater and Torje have done to see if there's a consistent difference between their collapse cutscene lengths.
My conclusion is that the time loss in Skater's 17:45 was a result of his Amarec window being inconsistent, and that the two Wii models don't actually run the game any differently.
Oh, and before you comment that the second video from the left at the bottom row is poorly synced: I synced all of the videos at the frame where the screen goes fully white. I think this is another result of Skater's Amarec. Some Jabu movement comparisonsJelster642016-04-13 | backwalks prevailPSA: YouTube channel glitch that makes YOUR videos invisibleJelster642016-03-03 | I bet they'll fix this soon.Child Kakariko Bazaar Clip SetupJelster642016-01-15 | Align under the dot texture on the wall, backflip, sideroll (and release Z immediately after pressing A), flick (or shieldturn/ess whatever) left, jumpslash in and walk into the loading zone. Learning this is a waste of time now. Just do void warp instead.
This is a tutorial for the collapse skip for No Wrong Warp, No IM/WW, No RBA/WW and MST No WW.
Note: I don't know why, but this tutorial seems to only apply to Wii VC. N64 players appear to need different frame data entirely, and I'm not sure about emulator, GameCube, iQue and Wii U VC. Try to find your own variation of the frame data if you aren't playing on VC.
By the way, if you want to even stand a chance of learning this, you'll need gecko codes to make the practice easier: http://forums.zeldaspeedruns.com/index.php?topic=1773.0Component vs Composite ComparisonJelster642015-11-23 | I compare the Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Wii VC) title screen through composite cables and component cables to show off just how much better component cables look. Edit: According to an article on SmashBoards (smashboards.com/guides/maximizing-capture-quality-of-melee.521 ) there's only two Wii2HDMI devices that don't introduce input lag: the one from Neoya (which I linked earlier) and the one from Sewell (amazon.com/Sewell-Wii-HDMI-Converter-480p/dp/B0072JP56G). This glitch requires a Deku Stick, a torch and a bottle with either bugs or a fish (or a fairy in the same room as the torch), all of which I attempt to obtain as fast as possible, after which I do Ocarina Items next to a torch so that the stick I play the song on burns as if Link is smoking weed.
This run's pretty cool. Apart from accidentally talking to the shop guy once, the escape segment was pretty much flawless. In the WESS to Kakariko segment I jumped once where I was supposed to just roll, and I missed zero velocity in about the slowest possible manner. In the bottle segment, the first phase was decent (besides the cuccos trolling me a bit with their random movement), but in the second phase, I waste a lot of time with the cucco at the bottom of the stairs. The last cucco's RNG was nice though. Also, the second phase's grouping was good, so overall, it was a good split. I got rekt by the skulltula once which wasted some time (not quite as horrific as PB's prior to this one though), and I forgot to backwalk after the skulltula (which would've been ever so slightly faster than rolling). I don't know if I want to improve this.
