Krysta Owings tells her story of experiencing a stroke at age 25 and the expert care she received at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Krysta was born with an AVM (arteriovenous malformation), which is a cerebrovascular disease that can cause bleeding in the brain and result in a stroke. After a successful surgery to remove the AVM, Krysta underwent a week of rehab at The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis and has fully recovered.
