Yalta is a Ukrainian city on Crimea's southern coast that has been temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation since 2014. It is a major port and resort that used to host guests from all over the peninsula, mainland Ukraine, and other countries. At one time, the poetess Lesia Ukrainka, the writer Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi, the scientist Volodymyr Vernadskyi, and many other outstanding Ukrainians rested and recovered here.
When Crimea was part of independent Ukraine, the Yalta City Council was governing the Greater Yalta territory, which also included the city of Alupka, and a number of towns and villages along the Black Sea, from the Sarych headland to Mount Ayu-Dag. This area attracted tourists not only because of the mild climate, but also because of the unique monuments of landscape art. Among them are Livadia and Massandra parks. Tourists also liked to visit local museums. For example, the Haliavyna Kazok open-air museum and the Lesia Ukrainka Memorial Museum
Palm trees on the embankment, carefully protected from the cold weather in winter; pomegranate and fig fruits plucked directly from the trees; strong wines of Yalta wineries; stairs in the courtyards; the wind from the Crimean Mountains; the hum of the Uchan-Su waterfall — all of these we will certainly return. After all, Crimea is Ukraine.
