This video is taken from a home VHS recording of "Miracle on 34th Street," as aired on Portland Oregon's KOIN 6, a CBS affiliate, in mid-December 1982. Here's what you'll see:
--McDonald's, "A Christmas to Remember," with a Norman Rockwell-inspired ornament that came with gift certificate booklets;
--Thriftway Supermarkets, with a new store in Eugene;
--KOIN promo, early morning ski reports with Phil Volker;
--Olympia Gold Light Beer, 1982;
--Toyota for 1983 (Eli Wallach Voiceover);
--KOIN promo, "Laverne & Shirley";
--KOIN Program Change slide, movie brought to you by Fred Meyer;
--Start of a wrap-around segment with male and female announcers (anyone know who they are?), including a filmed bit about Fred Meyer's gift selection, including the Atari video game system;
--Intermission, with a bit of Fred Meyer history, and filmed segments about the charities they work with: the Salvation Army (with a cute bell-ringer!); the Portland Fire Department's Toy and Joy Makers; the Blanchet House of Hospitality; and the Portland Police Bureau's Sunshine Division);
