Excerpt from 'Kobe Bryant's team-mate with Los Angeles Lakers opens up on "special" NBA megastar' article by Andrew Gamble:
When asked about Bryant, the respect Fisher has for the late icon is clear. They both entered the NBA as members of the Lakers in 1996, playing together for 13 seasons with their on-court fate intertwined. Fisher wouldn’t change a thing and heralded Bryant’s dedication to success in basketball.
“They say ‘iron sharpens iron’ and all these different phrases, but it was a gift,” Fisher exclusively told Mirror Sport. “It was such a gift to be surrounded by so much greatness - it forces you to raise your level.
“That’s what it was like to be teammates with Kobe and around him for like 275 days a year! To see him on basically a daily basis and observe the way his mind saw the game of basketball as well as the dedication to his craft inspired me. I think it inspired a lot of our teammates and it was absolutely one of the major reasons we were so successful.
“It highlights the importance of having someone, no matter if it’s a company or a family or a team, who can dictate the group with their approach or mindset. Kobe represented that.”

Excerpt from Kevin Durant Calls Out Kyle Kuzma After He Compared Brandon Ingram To Kobe Bryant Instead Of Him article by Divij Kulkarni:
Kyle Kuzma said Brandon Ingram is more like Kobe Bryant than Kevin Durant, and KD took exception to that.
Brandon Ingram is one of the most underrated hoopers in the NBA. But those who know how good he is, show it by making a comparison almost no one else has earned. Brandon Ingrams game often gets compared to Kevin Durants, which is as high a compliment as any player in the NBA can receive.
On the face of it, the comparison is a really easy one to understand. Brandon Ingram has a height like Kevin Durant, and hes an excellent shooter. Like KD, he can score at all three levels and excels with the midrange. But there was another legendary scorer that Ingram was emulating when he was drafted into the NBA, and thats Kobe Bryant. Ingram was drafted by the Lakers and, as such, got to be around Kobe, even though the Mamba was retired by then. And Kyle Kuzma thinks thats who Ingram is more like.
“People try to compare [Ingram] to KD and stuff… it’s cuz his body and build, but they’re like two different players. He’s like a long a** Kobe in a sense. How he plays, the footwork, getting to my spot, brazin’. He’s a problem.”
Kobe Bryant is another comparison that any player would be proud of, and Ingram certainly wouldnt be one to disagree. His footwork is elite for his length, there is no disputing this, but there is one man who wasnt quite thrilled with Kuzmas comments on this front.
