in 1986, Knott's Berry Farm replaced the Knott's Bear-y Tales attraction with Kingdom of The Dinosaurs. A compromise was made to include the return of the bears in the form of a walk-through attraction located within Camp Snoopy. The attraction featured condensed scenes from the original Rolly Crump ride with about a 30 percent of the props that remained that were left.
The 70 percent continues to live on today by the Stack's Liberty Ranch, Dale Tetley, and Albert Rodriguez collections among other fans who rescued the original ride.
Bear-y Tales Playhouse closed in the spring of 1998. Marking it the last major thing to do with Knott's Bear-y Tales until the recently announced Knott's Bear-y Tales: Return To The Fair.
