The Reverse stockinette stitch i-cord bind-off is particularly great for garter stitch, and gives the edge a thicker feel. It drapes beautifully and can be used for many different types of projects, from shawls to socks and sweaters. A larger i-cord bind-off, either reverse stockinette or plain stockinette, can also be used as a casing for a drawstring.

Knitting How-To: Reverse Stockinette Stitch I-cord Bind-off (3 stitch i-cord shown). Use a larger double pointed needle with your working needle if using this bind-off for a project that needs extra stretch on the bind-off. Cast on three stitches using the knitted method (or other preferred method). [Purl two stitches, purl 2 stitches together (one from i-cord and one from body of work), move yarn to back and slip 3 stitches back to left needle.] Repeat between [ ]s until all stitches have been bound off. Bind off remaining 3 stitches.
