Decreasing in knitting can be used in so many ways, from shaping the top of a hat to balancing yarn overs in lacework and making it look like the stitches move in different ways. the simplest decrease is a knit two together, often appreciated k2tog in patterns, and it leans to the right. watch me draw it out and do it with yarn.
