Tournament creator Emma Merchant ‘24 doesn’t remember how they came up with the idea for their final project in Prof. Tess Grogan’s class (ENG 213: Playing Knights: Chivalry, Romance, Fantasy), but wanted it to be “a balance of athletic events and performance events so lots of people could participate—even if they didn’t want to fight to the death.”
