Use your knee and your voice to protect yourself from an attacker. OSUPD’s Officer Cassi Shaffer, one of Ohio State’s Empowerment and Self-Defense instructors, teaches a self-defense technique called “Knee Strike” in this week’s Safety Spotlight. Watch the video to learn how to use your knee as an additional line of defense during an attack.
The techniques shown in this video are taught by certified instructors and should be used for self-defense only. Self-defense techniques cannot be successfully employed in every situation, and proficiency can only be achieved and is dependent upon the thorough continued practice, exercising good judgment, and a person’s natural abilities. The Ohio State University and its police division are not liable for injury that may be incurred as a result of using these strategies.
