Rapid City must have been the place to be if you wanted your TV channels to sign off every night.... I guess.
A bit of a bonus starts the tape, with a slide for KNBN's then digital sub-channel carrying MyNetworkTV. IIRC, the channel only aired programs up until 11pm or midnight, after which they would switch to this static MyNetworkTV slide until the next morning.
Here is NBC affiliate KNBN TV in Rapid City, SD, dozing off for the night following a rebroadcast of that night's Tonight Show. Once the credits end, it's straight into another overnight radar loop. At least KEVN had an actual sign-off message before it went into it's radar loop.
Recorded July 2011 directly off-air, using a Lasonic DTV converter box connected to my VCR while staying at a hotel on a family vacation. Yeah, part of my plan that year was to record these to tape!
