The mother cat, Tails, moved her kittens into the barn in November (annshorsefarm.com/franciss-blog/mystery-cat-brings-us-her.html).
When we discovered that her babies were rooming with the groundhog, we were worried about either a cat-groundhog fight (but we read that groundhogs are docile unless cornered), or worse, a cave-in (there's usually 600-800 pounds of grain in the feed cabinet).
Fortunately, Tails has moved them into the tractor garage with the rest of our cats (annshorsefarm.com/franciss-blog/goodbye-2024-.html).
As with all of our "adoptees," they are getting fixed as soon as they can.
