Time to head into Top Ride, a mode where the races are played out on tiny gimmicky courses with super generic names from a top-down perspective of sorts. The A Button still does everything and you can pull off almost everything you can in the bigger Air Ride courses.
Instead of Abilities however, you use kooky items that pop-up around the track that makes things extra chaotic. What's more, there's only two machines available: the Free Star where you can move in all directions, and the Steer Star where tilting left or right changes your directions.
The first course is the Top Ride equivalent to Fantasy Meadows: simple turns and straightaways in a serene grassy landscape. The gimmick here are several "trees" that sprout up to four bombs that drop and slowly regrow when struck. Dash Panels also pop-up on different areas of the course from time to time. Default number of laps is 7.
Nintendo and HAL Laboratory own Kirby.
