As part of the catchup, I’ve at least caught up to this month (August 2026), though not for long—this one is Stadium Shuffle!, held in late July to early August. This time, there was a three-week gap instead of a two-week one, but this one changes daily.
Each day of the event has City Trial end in a different Stadium, each of them themed. They are as follows:
July 29: Single Race or Oval Circuit (standard races)
July 30: Drag Race, Rail Panic, or Beam Gauntlet (obstacle course races)
July 31: Kirby Melee, Dustup Derby, or Big Battle (direct combat)
August 1: VS. Nightmare, VS. Zero Two, VS. Marx, or VS. Robo Dedede (boss battles)
August 2: Gourmet Race, Target Flight, Air Glider, High Jump, Skydive, or Button Rush (miscellaneous)
To that end, I’ll have one match for each of the five days this event was active. I won’t have every Stadium type covered, but I’ll at least have one from each category.

Stadium: Oval Circuit
We had a Dustup Derby mid-match for this one…I’m not that great with them, but I figure I might as well join in because you get the upgrades for participating even if you place at the bottom. I didn’t have the best-suited machine for it, the Transform Star, but I tried. Maybe I should play more evasively. I got the Paper Star going into this race though, which I think is well-suited for it…if not for the bomb going off that nearly took out my whole HP bar in one go!

I think this is the very first time I’ve ever fallen off the track in Rail Panic…It seems the Swerve Star is very nice, but it seems I didn’t know my way around the Rail Panic track enough, as I remained in the lead until I missed the first boost ring.

Stadium: Dustup Derby 5
This time, I happened to be in the right spot for the grind rail getting a lot of upgrades on it, so I was able to nab most of them, increasing my machine’s capabilities grearly. However, every time I play Dustup Derby, one player seems to win by an incredibly margin…I got 3 KOs here, putting me in 2nd overall, but the person in 1st? 28 KOs. How does this always happen? (Then again, this time, that player happened to get Leo, the Legendary Machine that’s well-suited for combat.)

Stadium: VS. Zero Two
I think this was the first time I actually caught up to the “special formation of machines,” only to find out that they move around. It also seem I got caught in the crossfire when Grand Wheelie turned up. Having to fight Zero Two with no gliding powerups at all is rough, but King Dedede is naturally aggressive and was really able to bring the pain onto the Dark Matter construct. Spencer dealt almost as much damage to Zero Two as the other seven of us combined! (Zero Two has 8,000 HP.)

I was not able to find any vacant machines this time around…I take it the other players had found them all before me. I can also see why some of the people in this room settled on the Warp Star: with a variety of Stadiums and not knowing if they need to glide, race, or something else, might as well pick the well-balanced machine—and one of them won overall.
