King Oyo Mourned in Tooro as Elders Begin Cultural Rituals; Lion Monument Covered in Fort Portal @ubctvuganda

As Tooro Kingdom continues to mourn the fallen King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, Ritual performers in the Kingdom have covered the Lion effigy at the main Fort portal round about and at the main entrance of the palace to symbolize that the "Lion of the Kingdom can no longer Roar".

In addition, there will be no singing of the kingdom anthem and all the flags will fly at half-mast.

Elders in the kingdom have explained the meaning the ritual.
