The King bonded with an adorable Shetland pony as he was welcomed to Balmoral Castle.

Corporal Cruachan IV is the mascot of the Royal Regiment of Scotland.

A small ceremony was held for King Charles outside the Castle Gates before he inspected troops.

His Majesty and Queen Camilla are expected to stay at the Royal Deeside estate until October.
