Almuñécar - Wow - What an incredible location!
We had an incredible experience at a camper park in Almuñécar, starting with a stroke of luck when we managed to secure the last available spot despite it being marked as full. The pitch wasn’t an official one, but it turned out to be one of the best, offering plenty of sunlight and even a small back garden. The facilities were excellent, including clean toilets, showers, and laundry for just €15 a night, which was a great deal.
We explored the surrounding area, admiring the stunning promenade lined with palm trees and enjoying the local atmosphere, full of Spanish families. Despite the beautiful setting, we had to be cautious about dangerous processionary caterpillars, which pose a serious threat to pets. We had a lovely day, walking around and discovering the area's charm. For lunch, we enjoyed a delicious tuna, avocado, and tomato salad with Bonito del Norte, followed by cocktails at a nearby bar.
The area felt peaceful and authentically Spanish, offering a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. The camper park was small but well-maintained, with friendly owners and a lovely, calm vibe.
