This is the first trial, in 2019, for the alleged middle-woman in the murder-for-hire plot that ended in the murder of FSU Law Professor Dan Markel. The murder took place in July of 2014. The State separately alleges that the victim's former brother-in-law, Charlie Adelson, ordered the hit to allow his sister to move to South Florida.
