This video is part of my “KiCad Like a Pro, 4th edition” course, updated for KiCad 8! In this session, we’ll tackle step five of our schematic design workflow: setting nets. I’ll explain what nets are and how they function as the underlying connections between your components in KiCad, even though they appear as simple wires in your schematic.

You’ll learn how to use the net label tool to name important nets, making them easy to identify both in the schematic and layout editors. While this step might seem optional for a simple circuit, it’s a good habit to get into as you work on more complex designs.
