In this video, I document the first successful boot of my custom LattePanda Mu carrier board after completing extensive hardware repairs.

This video is part of my course High Speed PCB Design with KiCad, where I design a real computer carrier board from scratch and take it all the way through schematic design, PCB layout, manufacturing, assembly, debugging, repair, and bring-up.

The course focuses on real engineering workflows, including mistakes, failures, and recovery, not just ideal outcomes.

About this new lecture (Lecture 440)

In this lecture, I power up the custom carrier board for the first time after repairing the power subsystem. I replaced incorrectly selected buck converters with the correct SY8253ADC devices used in the reference design and repaired damaged pads using fine jumper wire.

During the bring-up process, I carefully and incrementally verify system behaviour, including:

* Power rail enable logic and safety checks
* Fan operation and visual power indicators
* HDMI output and firmware behaviour
* SSD detection and storage activity
* USB functionality
* Successful operating system boot

This video marks a major milestone in the project, because it confirmed that the custom board is electrically stable and operational after repair.

Of course, there maybe other issues to find and fix, and I'm working on that now.
