Description:
In this deep-dive charging test, we put the new Kia EV5 (81.4 kWh) to the test at a 300 kW fast charger after a high-speed run at 130 km/h (81 mph). We analyze its peak charging speed, monitor the complete charging curve, and compare its performance to the Kia EV3 (81.4 kWh) and Volkswagen ID.5 (79 kWh). We also look at energy consumption at 130 km/h (81 mph) and discuss whether Kia’s 400V architecture holds up against the competition.
