Donut Lab, a Finnish company, recently presented what they claim is a revolutionary solid state battery for electric vehicles. The promises sound incredible:
• 400 Wh/kg energy density
• 100,000 charging cycles
• Full charge in 5 minutes
If true, this could completely change the future of electric cars and EV charging.
But after the first independent lab tests and analysis from several battery experts, the excitement is fading. The data that was published does not seem to show anything significantly better than a modern lithium-ion battery.
