Description:
Today Iβm testing the Kia EV4 with the 81 kWh battery (FWD, 150 kW, heat pump, 19β wheels) at a constant 110 km/h GPS.
This is the realistic βmixed drivingβ scenario β not full Autobahn at 130 km/h, but the kind of speed many people actually drive on highways and country roads.
π‘ Temperature: ~2Β°C
π₯ Climate: 22Β°C driver only
π 19β wheels
π Charged to 80%
β‘ Battery preheated via navigation
Battery cooling after DC charging:
~1 kW for 5β7 minutes
Then reduced gradually
Finished after ~17 minutes
Battery preheating worked properly during this test (unlike the 130 km/h run) and activated automatically when navigating to the charger.
π Driving Impressions at 110 km/h
β Noticeably quieter than 130 km/h
β Very comfortable on smooth roads
β Steering assist & cruise control work great
β Heating only ~660 W in driver-only mode
β Typical Kia assistance systems need manual deactivation each drive
β Navigation arrival estimate inaccurate at reduced speed
