The new BMW iX3 xDrive50 (108 kWh) is one of the fastest charging electric SUVs on the market, reaching more than 400 kW on a HYC1000 charger. But does an impressive peak charging speed really translate into the fastest charging experience?
In this video I analyze the complete charging session, take a detailed look at the charging curve, compare it against the Smart #5 and XPENG G6, and explain why charging performance is about much more than just peak power. We also compare charging curves, energy added over time, and real highway range added during charging to see which EV is best for long-distance driving.
