An Unconventional Colgera Fight [totk] Paradox Gaming 2023-07-18 | I wanted to do a cool combat challenge for TOTK. Everyone has seen Lynel challenges and whatnot, but what about a boss that is usually considered pretty easy?Well, if we add a couple of rules, we can make the battle quite a bit more challenging and interesting. I decided to do a Colgera battle, first because the music is great, and second because of the freedom we get to design unique strategies to damage the boss. The footage itself took over a week of research and practice; determining what strategies were viable to string together in a full run, how to make them all look cool, and finally just grinding attempts until the perfect run happened.The worst part of this was that the hardest trick was right when phase 2 starts. I also wanted a smooth transition from the starting cutscene into the battle, so for my final attempts, I needed to wait for the whole starting cutscene to play out and then do the 3 hits to start phase 2 just to get a single chance to land the meteor shield trick. The cutscene itself is about a whole minute of waiting, so this was definitely a drag.There was one trick that I wanted to implement in the run, but it was so incredibly difficult to do consistently that I needed to let that one go. Paracopter Tutorial 2: higher launches, better consistency [Tears of the Kingdom v1.2.1] Paradox Gaming 2023-06-07 | In this video, I will show you how to consistently launch 2km (and occasionally hit the height limit!) using a new paracopter design. This should be able to get you onto pretty much any sky island in the game.
I launched to the HIGHEST ISLAND in Tears of the Kingdom! Paradox Gaming 2023-06-02 | There is a small star-shaped island about 3000 meters above lookout landing. It is less than 200 meters below the height limit. I don't know why it's there, but I found out recently that we can reach it with the paracopter by jumping into it while it's already spinning.Here is a tutorial for the paracopter I used in the video.youtube.com/watch?v=KEtCsNe1QnQI will make a second tutorial if/when I figure out how to consistently send Link to the height limit. For now, it's just luck-based. Fun fact: during the start of this launch, Link was moving at 16.5 meters/frame or 495 m/s. The speed of sound in air is 343 m/s, so Link flew at mach 1.44.

The OCO Launch: How to launch Link with a fan and a plank [Tears of the Kingdom] Paradox Gaming 2023-05-25 | I discovered this two days ago.Fans are an example of what I like to call an oriented carriable object (OCO). When Link picks up an OCO, it rapidly snaps to its default orientation as Link is picking it up. Here, I used ultrahand to flip the fan over 180 degrees, then picked it up and it snapped into place in Link's hands. From there, just attach a plank, recall, and jump at the right time.Because the angle is 180 degrees and the fan rotates along the shortest angular path, it may rotate forwards or backwards depending on the subtle variations of the terrain. Pay close attention to the rotation to determine whether to attach the plank to the front or back of the fan. In this clip, the fan rotated away from Link, so I attached the plank to the front. If it rotated towards Link, you need to attach it to the back instead. This requires some practice training your eye what to look for.I've had varying results with this. It's super cheap and easy to do, but the launch distances seem to vary depending on a few factors. It averages around 300 meters, but I've seen it launch north of 500.It's not nearly as powerful as the deep40000 spear throw launch, but I find it much more consistent. If you need some more modest distance, this may be the tool for the job.

BOTW Kah Mael Shrine Skips Paradox Gaming 2018-01-25 | This shrine can be broken surprisingly easily. A well timed jump while the platform is rising should give Link enough height to get up top.I recommend turning on motion controls, as it’s makes moving around magnetized objects much faster. This is important for giving the platform enough downward velocity to get a good jump.
BOTW Bareeda Naag Shrine Skips Paradox Gaming 2018-01-25 | Generally speaking, putting yourself in front of a loaded cannon and then subsequently firing said cannon is a very bad idea. Link is the exception.
BOTW Final Trial Puzzle Skips (Map used 1x) Paradox Gaming 2018-01-04 | -- Dungeon is Part of DLC 2: The Champions' Ballad -- This is, to the best of my knowledge, the only video on how to break the puzzles in the Final Trial. You know the companion cube from portal? Well, the same concept is used here, except with a metal box. I solved the electric puzzle just to prove you could get to the terminal, but to activate it, you unfortunately must use the map to orient it properly. Please keep in mind that some tricks require multiple attempts. That's why there is an awkward cut during the water part. That cryonis jump is really difficult and I failed it a few times. Sorrry :/ Let me know if you want to see me break this dungeon again using different strategies. I have a couple of ideas... ; )
