# Max Key Storage – Locksmith Shop Storage Solution
In this video, I show our latest **locksmith workshop storage project** — a compact system designed to store a massive number of keys while keeping them organised and easy to access.
Traditional wall-mounted **key boards** work well in locksmith shops with plenty of wall space. However, in a small workshop or a workshop with limited storage, they can take up valuable space very quickly.
So, we decided to build our own solution: **Max Key Storage**.
The system uses **sliding shelving underneath the workbench**, allowing a large number of keys and key blanks to be stored in a relatively small footprint.
### Our Max Key Storage Design
The system is being built to hold:
* **120 key drawers per slide-out **
* **Up to 1,200 key positions total**
* **50 letter/category positions of black tubs**
* All fitted into the otherwise unused space **under the workbench**
The sliding design means the key drawers can be pulled out when required and then pushed back underneath the bench when finished.
For a locksmith workshop dealing with hundreds or thousands of different **key blanks, automotive keys, commercial keys, residential keys and specialty keys**, being able to quickly find the correct key is important.

Instead of covering an entire wall with key boards, we're trying to **MAX the key storage while MINIMISING the space it takes up.**
This is still a workshop project in progress, but the video shows the design, construction and how we plan to use it once completed.
