Growing up with both her parents both musicians, Kendra Morris was able to find her way at an early age. Guided by Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and the Jackson 5, she began to learn the guitar and to write her own songs. She realeased in 2012 an EP and received the Holly Prize, which rewards new talents. After a tour, she's now back with her new album «Banshee» which seems to match her nickname «the modern Janis Joplin».
She sings for us «Pow» extract from her new album, in the Robinet d'Or, a Parisian restaurant.

It was a great honour to record a live session with the legendary jazz bassist Marcus Miller !
The musical genius, who collaborated with Miles Davis and Aretha Franklin, just released ‘Afrodeezia‘, which sounds like an ode to black music: » I wanted to go back to the roots of these rythms which make the richness of our musical legacy; to travel from Africa to the United States and follow these rythms. This trip led us to Mali, Paris, New Orleans, Sao Paulo, as well as Carribeans » told the musician.
Although it was inspired by many influences, we can definitely find on this album the unique groovy style and the inimitable bass sounds of Marcus. Alongside his musicians, he performed for us ‘Hylife‘, a terribly swinging extract from Afrodeezia !
Nous avons eu l’immense honneur d’enregistrer une session en studio avec le légendaire bassiste jazz Marcus Miller !
Ce musicien de génie, qui a collaboré avec Miles Davis ou encore Aretha Franklin, vient de sortir ‘Afrodeezia‘ un album qui sonne comme une ode aux musiques noires: « ma volonté principale était de remonter à la source des rythmes qui font la richesse de notre héritage musical, de partir de l’Afrique pour les suivre, comme à la trace, jusqu’aux Etats-Unis. Ce périple nous a menés du Mali à Paris, de La Nouvelle-Orléans à Sao Paulo, en passant par les Caraïbes » soulignait Marcus. C’est ce voyage chargé d’histoire que retransmet cet album, sur lequel on retrouve également le groove unique et le son de basse inimitable du musicien.

WhoMadeWho is the Scandinavian band that you dont want to miss. In March the 3rd they release their fifth album «Dreams». They used to make instrumental songs that were designed to be played in clubs, but with this album we can feel the evolution of the group. The songs and the lyrics are more refined and elaborated, they describe the album as «more loving, calm and warm». The flatshare is unanimous, we love it!

Michaela Maree Gehrmann (born 28 June 1984), who performs as Micky Green, is an Australian-born blues and pop singer-songwriter. Green left home at 18-years-old to work in modelling but has mainly concentrated on her music career. At the age of 21 Green relocated to Paris, France. Her debut album White T-Shirt was released there on 27 August 2007, which peaked at No. 12 on the French Albums Chart. Her second album, Honky Tonk, appeared on 18 January 2010, and reached the top 40. Her most popular single, Oh!, was issued in May 2008 and peaked at No. 12 on the French Singles Chart.

Michael David Rosenberg (born 17 May 1984), better known by his stage name Passenger, is a British folk-rock singer-songwriter. His stage moniker comes from being the Passengers main vocalist and songwriter, which released just one album (Wicked Mans Rest) before breaking up. When the members of the band chose to go their own separate ways in 2009, Rosenberg opted to keep the bands name for his solo work. His most successful single Let Her Go has topped the charts in 16 countries so far.
He performed All The Little Lights, a second song, for us, in the Church of Saint-Merri in Paris, using perfectly the reverberation of the monument! It was a magical moment!

We are pleased to show you Rixton. We know they are different from what youre used to see here, but that does not take away the talent of this British band. Weve been seduced by their voices and instruments harmonies. They are famous thanks to their Usher and Chris Brown cover, because they knew how to take the songs and make them their own. They were able to show that they were talented musicians. Weve been curious so we invited them to the flatshare and were glad we did it!

We talked about it recently, when we met Tove Styrke: Swedish artists are shining bright like a diamond on the international pop music stage!
Here’s another proof with 26-year-old artist Erik Hassle: you may not know him yet but he managed some pretty nice achievements so far: his last EP, ‘Somebody’s Party‘ (2014) was a hit in Sweden; his ‘No Words‘ single, released in April, has more than 400 000 views on Youtube; he co-wrote a song for Rihanna and Shakira, and collaborated with Tinashe as well as fellow artists Icona Pop. Wow!
Erik Hassle‘s music style is kind of a mix between Robyn (who went to the same musical school as Erik in Sweden) and Justin Timberlake (they share some capillary resemblances by the way). The young artist delivers a nice indie pop music, injected with some RnB vibes – sometimes melancholic, sometimes built for the dancefloors!
After opening for Jessie J in France, the pop phenomenon will be performing for Tove Lo‘s American tour this fall (speaking of brilliant Swedish artists…).
